About Melanie Blues-LaBean and BlueStar Sporthorses LLC

In  2005 our dream came true with the purchase of an 8 acre cow farm.  It has been slowly transforming into a quality horse farm.  We currently focus on beginner and novice rider English lessons.  Melanie currently travels to several Dressage schooling shows each year with plans to incorporate a Recognized show.  Students also attend local 4-H shows to gain show experience.

We currently have 7 stalls, separate feed room, heated tack room, 40 x 60 indoor arena and a separate barn for hay storage.  There are 6 separate turnouts with future plans to provide additional separate turnouts.  Future plans also include adding on to the indoor arena for additional riding space and stalls.

Melanie's students ride and show at various levels in many different disciplines, including Dressage, Hunter/Jumper and even Hunt Seat.  Her goal as an instructor is to provide students with a solid foundation that will allow them to pursue the riding discipline of their choice whether it be competitively or for pleasure only.  Melanie's teaching philosophy is safety first, followed by good overall horsemanship and love for riding.

Melanie continues to pursue her own professional riding career.  She believes that a rider is never truly "finished" and is dedicated to continually improving her own skills in order to provide the best possible service to her students and horses.
